Amber Turbine

Energy projects with numbers behind them.

Amber Turbine helps commercial property owners reduce utility costs through solar, efficiency upgrades, and rate structure review — with engineered production estimates and a project manager you can reach, not a brochure with payback promises.

What we take on

Commercial solar, efficiency retrofits, and utility advisory — engineered, not estimated.

01

Commercial solar

Roof and carport systems sized to your actual consumption profile, with shade analysis, structural loading review, and production modelling reviewed by a licensed engineer before contracts are signed. We handle permitting, interconnection, and commissioning so the system enters service on the scheduled date. Monitoring is included in year one and available as an ongoing subscription.

02

Efficiency upgrades

LED lighting retrofits, HVAC controls, and building envelope improvements with simple payback calculations based on your actual utility bills, not national averages. We prioritise measures with the shortest payback and lowest disruption to operations, then model longer-cycle improvements against your capital planning horizon. Utility rebate applications are completed by our team.

03

Utility bill review

Rate schedule analysis and demand-charge optimisation for commercial accounts — often the highest-return work we do with no equipment installation required. We identify accounts on the wrong rate schedule, with poor load factor, or missing available programmes and quantify the savings in dollars, not percentages. Review is typically completed within two weeks of receiving twelve months of utility bills.

04

O&M & monitoring

Production alerts, scheduled inverter and racking inspections, and warranty claim management by a team that knows your system and your utility territory. We track production against the model monthly and report variances with a root-cause note — not a dashboard you have to interpret yourself. Service-level response times are specified in the O&M agreement.

How the work moves

A written sequence from first brief to handoff — the same rail on every engagement.

  1. 01 · Site assessment

Utility bills, roof condition, and load profile — complete in one site visit and documented in writing.

  2. 02 · Engineered proposal

Production estimate, incentive breakdown, and install timeline reviewed with you before deposit.

  3. 03 · Build & commission

Permits, installation, utility inspection, and monitoring handoff — on the milestone schedule.

Questions before the work starts

What financing options are available?

Cash purchase, commercial solar loan, and PPA structures are each presented with a total-cost comparison over the analysis period so you can make an informed choice. We do not push one product — the right structure depends on your tax position, cash flow, and holding period, which we discuss before recommending.

What if the roof needs work?

We assess roof condition as part of the site visit and flag issues before any penetrations are made. If re-roofing is warranted, we coordinate quotes from qualified roofing contractors and sequence the work so your solar installation is not delayed. A roof warranty that coordinates with the panel warranty timeline is part of what we look for.

What maintenance is required?

Most grid-tied commercial systems require minimal scheduled maintenance — annual visual inspection and inverter firmware updates. O&M contracts with defined response times are available and recommended for systems over 100 kW. Monitoring is included in the first year on all new installations.

How accurate are production estimates?

Our proposals use measured on-site irradiance data, actual roof geometry, and manufacturer-specific performance degradation curves. We track installed system performance against proposal estimates and report the variance annually — it is one of the ways we hold ourselves accountable to the numbers we put in front of clients.
